The Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA)-Climate Action Webinar Series

The Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA)-Climate Action Webinar Series

The Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA), launched by the Sustainable Fashion Academy, brings together apparel and textile companies to accelerate climate action, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support the industry’s transition toward a low-carbon future.

In collaboration with STICA and leading Scandinavian fashion brands—Båstadgruppen AB, Gina Tricot AB, INTERSPORT Group, and Kappahl Group—Engineering Resources International (ERI) Ltd. delivered the Climate Action Webinar Series to strengthen climate knowledge and action across the brands’ supply chains.

The series engaged 150+ participants from more than 50 suppliers, creating a collaborative platform for brands and manufacturers to build capacity, exchange practical insights, and strengthen approaches to GHG management, decarbonisation, and climate action across the apparel and textile value chain.

Together, we presented four focused webinars addressing critical climate action areas:

  • 1. Webinar 1: Energy Efficiency and Decarbonisation Techniques

This session provided participants with the latest decarbonisation strategies and tools to improve energy efficiency. Attendees explored actionable pathways to reduce their carbon footprint and transition to cleaner, cost-effective energy solutions.

  • 2. Webinar 2: GHG Accounting and Emissions Inventory

Focusing on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, this webinar walked attendees through best practices in emissions inventory management. Suppliers gained practical knowledge on calculating, tracking, and reporting GHG emissions—a foundational step for effective climate action.

  • 3. Webinar 3: Science-Based Target Setting: Concepts and Methodology

This session introduced the principles of science-based target setting, guiding participants on aligning their climate strategies with the latest scientific benchmarks. Attendees learned methodologies to set ambitious, science-aligned goals for emission

  • 4. Webinar 4: Introduction to Net Zero and Advancing Renewable Energy

With a deep dive into net zero concepts, this webinar emphasized the importance of renewable energy adoption within operations. Participants explored practical pathways to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and integrate renewable solutions as part of their long-term decarbonisation efforts.

The Climate Action Webinar Series 2024 represents our continued commitment to driving sustainability in supply chains and empowering suppliers to be proactive in their climate efforts. Through this series, we have helped pave the way for a collective move toward reduced emissions, science-aligned targets, and robust climate resilience across the industry.
