Industrial Manufacturing Facility, Bangladesh
Facilities rely entirely on deep tube groundwater wells for utility and sanitary uses. Over-extraction depletes local aquifers, increases energy costs for deep pumping, and threatens water security during seasonal dry spells.
Installed a rooftop rainwater harvesting system across 4,094 m² of factory roof. The system conveys rain via downpipes, filters it through a first-flush diversion system, and stores it in a large underground reservoir, replacing groundwater for non-process uses.
Rainwater falling on 4,094 m² roof area
Dirty initial storm runoff diverted automatically
Water filtered and piped to reservoir
Water pumped for factory non-process uses
Turns 4,094 m² of unused rooftop catchment area into a highly productive clean water source.
Saves 5,927 m³ of groundwater extraction annually, preventing water table depletion.
Provides a reliable alternative water supply during dry seasons or pumping failures.
Incorporates first-flush storm sediment bypass valves to ensure stored water quality is high.
