Garment Washing Facility, Bangladesh
Previously, the garment washing process included five redundant rinse cycles after each washing stage to remove residual chemicals. This resulted in excessive water, energy, and chemical consumption, increased wastewater generation, and prolonged batch cycle times.
The facility analyzed the washing process to identify rinse cycles that did not contribute to product quality. They optimized washing recipes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to eliminate five unnecessary rinse steps. Production trials verified that cleanliness, shade consistency, and chemical residue limits met all quality requirements without requiring any capital investment.
Analyzed washing cycles to identify redundant rinse stages
Conducted batch trials to verify cleanliness and shade consistency
Updated standard operating procedures and trained machine operators
Successfully rolled out the optimized washing recipes
Achieving water and energy savings purely through recipe optimization and cycle design.
Saves 83,230,380 liters (83,230 m³) of fresh water annually.
Eliminating five washing steps shortens overall cycle times, allowing higher daily machine throughput.
Cuts effluent discharge load to the treatment plant by 280,237 liters per day.
